Reading Groups

Here are our current reading goals - 

Monkeys

We are learning have a GOOD guess at tricky words

We will :

• Look at the word
• Point to the first letter
• Say the first sound OUT LOUD
• Run up saying the first sound

Zebras

We are learning have a GOOD guess at tricky words

We will :

• Look at the word
• Point to the first letter
• Say the first sound OUT LOUD
• Run up saying the first sound
• Find the parts we know in a word
• Check our guess (eyes left to right as we say the word slowly)

Giraffes

We are learning to read with expression…

We will :

• find punctuation – and change our voice (especially for speech marks and fullstops)
• put words together (phrasing)
• try not to stop between words, 
• making our reading sound smooth like talking (not like a robot!)
• NO FINGER POINTING (this slows our eyes down)

Rhinos and Lions

We are learning have a GOOD guess at tricky words

We will :
